You choose how much you’d like to donate each pay period and your employer deducts it straight from your pay before tax. Because it’s taken out before your income is taxed, for any donation over $5 you receive an immediate 33% tax credit. For example, if you donate $30 you’ll only have a $20 reduction on your take home pay. And to top it off, there’s no need to retain receipts or file a donation claim form.

- If your workplace isn’t set up for payroll giving yet, you can share this link so they can register through the IRD. It’s free and simple to register.
