Meet the Need is proud to continue its partnership with Elanco Animal Health, with the company once again committing to support Kiwi families through its Prolaject™ campaign this winter and spring.
From 6 July to 30 September 2026, Elanco will donate $5 to Meet the Need for every pack of Prolaject™ purchased, with a goal of raising up to $50,000. The campaign has the potential to help provide 20,000 meals for New Zealand families experiencing food insecurity.

As demand for food support continues to grow across New Zealand, partnerships like this play an important role in helping Meet the Need deliver nutritious food to foodbanks and community organisations throughout the country.
Prolaject™ is a trusted range of injectable vitamin B12 and vitamin B12 with selenium supplements used by New Zealand farmers to help address cobalt and selenium deficiencies in livestock. Often used around key periods such as mating, calving and lambing, it has long been part of herd and flock health programmes on farms across the country.
“Partnerships like this demonstrate the incredible generosity that exists across New Zealand’s food and farming sector,” says Zellara Holden, General Manager of Meet the Need.

Every donation helps us get quality food to families who need it most, and we’re also grateful to the veterinary clinics involved, and the farmers who support the campaign through their purchases. Together, we’re making a real difference in communities across New Zealand.”
The campaign builds on a successful partnership between the two organisations and reflects a shared commitment to supporting both rural communities and Kiwi families.
Ben McFarlane, Head of Farm Animal at Elanco New Zealand, says the initiative is a natural extension of the role agriculture plays in supporting New Zealand communities.
“Prolaject has been helping farmers support animal health for decades. Through this continued partnership, every pack purchased can also help support families doing it tough. It’s a simple way for farmers and veterinarians to make a difference both on farm and within their communities.”
Meet the Need was founded by farmers who wanted to help address food insecurity in New Zealand by connecting the generosity of the agricultural sector with families in need. Today, the charity works with farmers, processors, transport providers and industry partners to deliver nutritious meat and milk to foodbanks and community organisations throughout the country.
By supporting campaigns like this, New Zealand’s farming community continues to demonstrate the values of care, generosity and community that sit at the heart of the sector.
